Default Roundel magazine

For those who are BMW CCA members, do you enjoy reading the magazine?
Personally, I find it boring and pretentious. No one in the magazine cares about 318ti cars, and I don't care about anything but 318ti cars.

I guess I just always liked the blacksheep of a car company, not necessarily the car company as a whole. The same went for my Scirocco.

i haven't even gotten to read most of the ones i've gotten. i believe one of the editors had gotten a ti and was doing various articles on it, but, if so, i haven't seen or read any of them because i haven't read any of the roundels i've gotten as part of my BMWCCA membership i'll get around to it eventually

i guess i've ended up with the bastard child of cars too ... first pontiac fieros (stop laughin' ya bastards, lol) and then the ti. the 88 fiero and ti both handle very well, so i really don't give a **** what anyone says or thinks.

Yeah i agree with you L8,the only thing i saw in there for our car was a S/C add for our engines. I haven't really read to much of them but have scanned through them when i get them. If i see something cool in there i'll read it,i get jealous looking at all those sweet cars in there though.

Great minds think alike.
I owned a Triumph TR7, then I was going to buy a 1988 Fiero. I test drove it, but was not impress with the lack of trunk space OR space in the front. Next was VW Sciroccos, and the 318ti. Each car was the blacksheep of the family.

the design spec on the trunk space for the fiero was that it had to fit a golf bag it was what it was. at least the body panels didn't rust like my damn hatch is!

Back in May or so (the issue with a hot-air balloon on the cover), Roundel featured a story of a cross-country trip in a 318ti. I meant to write in about my own trip (NY-LA in 4 days) but I had so much on my plate with moving and the summer job.

pontiac fiero? ive seen a few of those over here. usually with a fake ferarri body on the chassis. they're supposed to be a good kit car base.

yeah, there are quite a few body kits for them. my dad's been working on one that's original and doesn't look like anything else (like the lambo and ferrari kits do). he's building it on my old 87 fiero gt (my first car!). because of the design of the frame and body panels, it's a fairly simple process to strip all the panels off the car in a manner of hours. they've got V8 conversions and everything else for them now. for the lambo kits, they cut and stretch the frame, then usually put a longitudinal transaxle in as there's no way the stock FWD system (in the back, lol) could take that much power. with all the money put into a kit, especially if you want more power, etc, i'm thinking it's easier to buy a real ferrari 308 or 328 than to kit a fiero ... and then you have the real deal

You've also got to remember that the 318ti isn't the new hotness anymore; it's a fairly old model.

There is a euro sport compact tuner, but it'll have a lot of cars we don't even have access to. It'll probably make you more aggravated (that you can't get them; I know I am) than anything.

just out of interest, being in europe and really liking a lot of U.S cars that i cant get my hands on..... which Euro cars do you like that you cant get?

e36 M3s with the Individual Throttle Bodies 286 and 321 hp ratings..we got 240 hp rating. e30 M3s with higher hp engines. Hartge conversion cars. I believe europe had the M Coupe longer than we did. Those are a few.
