Did you search to see if your topic has been discussed? 2. Is there a forum category that better suits your topic? 1. yes. I usually can't find a close enough description to match what problems I may be having. 2. Are there enough users with the same problems browsing these other topics that will reply in a timely manner? Typically with other forums I belong to, the topic is brought up in the "general discussion" topic and then moved to the appropriate place. Not trying to stir up trouble here. Just my 2 cents. __________________ --------------------------------------------- 1998 318TI M SPORT MODS: DEPO FOG LIGHTS|DEPO XENON ANGEL EYE|REAR SPOLIER|WEATHER TECH WINDOW DEFLECTORS|REAR BILSTEIN SHOCKS|RIKEN RAPTOR 205/55ZR16'S|COSMO RACING COLD AIR INTAKE|GABRIEL ULTRA FRONT STRUTS| REPAIRS: RACK & PINION|AC COMPRESSOR|FRONT ROTORS & BRAKE PADS|02 SENSORS|CAT CONVERTER|MAF|TIE ROD ENDS|IAC VALVE| | | | 03-19-2009, 02:28 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | Quote: Originally Posted by fuse1002 Typically with other forums I belong to, the topic is brought up in the "general discussion" topic and then moved to the appropriate place. | I have never been a forum like that. The forum is divided into several sections of a car. If you think there should be more sections, post it in the site feedback section. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 03-19-2009, 03:10 AM | #4 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by fuse1002 1. Just my 2 cents. | This site is nothing like other forums. It stays very active and the community is always willing to help out. Most questions are answered within the first hour after being posted. Looking at your join date compared to your post count would lead me to believe that perhaps you're not very active here, which is fine, but if you'd visit a little more frequently you'd understand why we need some sort of organization. Steven is very liberal with this site and it's members. In most cases he leaves it up to us to decide where and what is okay to post. Very few threads get towed and/or locked. While I'll agree that a lot of threads lack information, it's because people are quick to start a new thread without looking to see if the topic has been already covered. Please keep in mind that you're not always going to find an answer to your question or someone with the EXACT same problem you may have encountered, it's the nature of the automotive world. In such cases, you're more than welcome to post your findings or start a thread in the appropriate section. This site has been around for a while, yet we're still a growing community and all information passed along is greatly appreciated, provided it's accurate and helpful. | | | 03-19-2009, 04:32 AM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: central ct Posts: 503 | i'm a member of about 100 forums, and not a single one is 'post in the lounge and let staff move it'. lol __________________ 2010 Genesis Coupe 2.0t track | 2000 Dakota Former 1995 318ti owner | | | 03-19-2009, 09:32 PM | #6 | Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Atl, GA Posts: 44 | I post in three other forums (moderator in one) and this is the case for all of them. Let's face it, a large bulk of the online guests visit the general topic before they even think to look into the other topics. I've been to several forums and never even bothered with the sub topics I'm happy to follow house rules, but just thought I'd spill the obvious. Thanks for the heads up! __________________ --------------------------------------------- 1998 318TI M SPORT MODS: DEPO FOG LIGHTS|DEPO XENON ANGEL EYE|REAR SPOLIER|WEATHER TECH WINDOW DEFLECTORS|REAR BILSTEIN SHOCKS|RIKEN RAPTOR 205/55ZR16'S|COSMO RACING COLD AIR INTAKE|GABRIEL ULTRA FRONT STRUTS| REPAIRS: RACK & PINION|AC COMPRESSOR|FRONT ROTORS & BRAKE PADS|02 SENSORS|CAT CONVERTER|MAF|TIE ROD ENDS|IAC VALVE| | | | 03-19-2009, 09:40 PM | #7 | Member Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: Atl, GA Posts: 44 | Quote: Originally Posted by briansol i'm a member of about 100 forums, and not a single one is 'post in the lounge and let staff move it'. lol | You must have a lot of time on your hands buddy. __________________ --------------------------------------------- 1998 318TI M SPORT MODS: DEPO FOG LIGHTS|DEPO XENON ANGEL EYE|REAR SPOLIER|WEATHER TECH WINDOW DEFLECTORS|REAR BILSTEIN SHOCKS|RIKEN RAPTOR 205/55ZR16'S|COSMO RACING COLD AIR INTAKE|GABRIEL ULTRA FRONT STRUTS| REPAIRS: RACK & PINION|AC COMPRESSOR|FRONT ROTORS & BRAKE PADS|02 SENSORS|CAT CONVERTER|MAF|TIE ROD ENDS|IAC VALVE| | | | 03-20-2009, 01:59 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: central ct Posts: 503 | I run forums for a part-time living 10 of them are mine, 20 are development/running board related, and the rest are hobbies that i frequest every now and again. __________________ 2010 Genesis Coupe 2.0t track | 2000 Dakota Former 1995 318ti owner | | | 03-20-2009, 04:29 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2009 Location: Long Beach, SoCal Posts: 373 | THIS FORUM ROCKS MAN! Please post your threads in the appropriate section. I don't mind towing them, but I'm sure some of you will log and wonder where your thread has been towed to (with no redirect) | | | 05-23-2012, 05:04 AM | #14 | Member Join Date: May 2012 Location: Washington Posts: 46 | This forum This forum has been delightful from what I have searched/checked out. I now plan to become a frequent poster/replier and help in any way that I can in order to make this friendly community that much more friendly. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Thread Tools | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
