Default Unique Little Run In I Had Today

As I'm headed to work this morning I am driving a bit fast since I'm late, as usual. I see the light ahead turn yellow and I hit my brakes, knowing there is no way I will make it through. As I come to a stop I sit there and wait for the rest of the traffic to catch up to me and the light to return to it's proper color (green).

As I'm impatiently sitting there a blue 1954 Chevy Bel-Air pulls up next to me. I look over and it's a guy who looks to be in his mid twenties. He gives it a rev. I return with a quick jab to the throttle and a smile. It's on.

The light turns green and I slip the clutch, but not enough and I bog it. He jumps ahead and puts a few feet between us. My car struggles desperately to keep up, he holds the lead but towards the end of second I begin to pull. I hit 6500 and slam the shifter into third. He gains back a little bit of what he lost when I shift but I start pulling again. We shut it down around 90 mph with my car barely in the lead.

My turn is coming up so I slow down and hit my blinker. He gives me a thumbs up and a rev. I give him the thumbs up too and turn into the parking lot. I get out of my car, walk in and somehow manage to clock in 2 minuted early.

LOL ... sweet.

If I didnt live in such a traffic infested city at commute hours I would be partaking in such events.

Very jealous... I need to start getting to work earlier. >;o)

Only mod is cutting a hole in my airbox. That and the short shifter and M3 flywheel that I've installed in my trunk

Yep, it's about 15 minutes from my dorm. I was up there about an hour before the shooting started. Pretty freaky.

damn, that sounded like one hell of a race. I myself have a 1955 chevy bel air and my stock ti has nothing on it. I have a 427 big block in that beast, it moves for a tank.

I took down a Hyundai Slowburon GT the other day, only performance modification being my CAI, which really doesn't do much/anything. I didn't really expect to win, I've been in a friend's before and it felt much faster than my beast. Maybe it was just a really bad driver? I remember a week or so after I got my car I raced what looked to be an early nineties z-28... that was interesting. I think the only reason I came even close to being in eyesight of him was his pity for me, but it was fun nonetheless.
