I bought this to start autocrossing and it has done well locally. It is a early 96 model without traction control and a lot of the emissions equipment, yet it still is OBDII. It is also one of the lightest chassis available since it is a slicktop. The chassis is straight and all body panels are original. The front bumper is a replacement as the previous owner ripped off the original one with a parking block. I drove this car very little the past year since I'm a college student. The car sat at home, covered and connected to a battery tender, while I was away at school. My maintenance includes: Meyle HD control arms w/ Powerflex FCABs Bilstein Sport dampers w/ Bav Auto lowering springs 2.5 mm camber shims New power steering hoses w/ fresh Mobil1 fluid New Victor Reinz valve cover gasket & oil filter housing gasket New filters & spark plugs New Mobil1 transmission fluid New Vaico PCV Clutch stop Asking $6000. 165k miles. 5-speed manual. Can you contact me when you bring it back here? I am interested, but I am. In PA and St. Louis is definitely not an option to me. | | | 04-28-2015, 03:21 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2013 Location: NJ Posts: 373 | I can surely contact you when I'm back in NJ. You get the stock one instead. __________________ 2000 M5 -> 1996 318ti -> 1997 328i Instagram: ndrewchow YouTube: MINIzguy | | | 05-24-2015, 12:01 AM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2013 Location: NJ Posts: 373 | __________________ 2000 M5 -> 1996 318ti -> 1997 328i Instagram: ndrewchow YouTube: MINIzguy | | | 06-05-2015, 04:15 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2013 Location: NJ Posts: 373 | Price drop to $3000 __________________ 2000 M5 -> 1996 318ti -> 1997 328i Instagram: ndrewchow YouTube: MINIzguy | | | 06-05-2015, 05:17 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2013 Location: Seattle Posts: 513 | Slick top is cool! I've been looking for a hard top about a year now. Admittedly to gut. Seems sorted (the way it scoots around on the video's) and great price. You East Coast fans have it good! My heart (girlfriend) can't handle another car purchase sight unseen so I'm out, but somebody needs to pick this up before I change my mind. Good luck. It was nice to have you on these boards. | | | 06-06-2015, 03:40 AM | #13 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2013 Location: NJ Posts: 373 | I think I have quite a unique model. It is a slicktop, which is hard to find already. No traction control so you just gotta find your LSD and plop it in. It is OBD2 but it lacks the secondary air emissions system. Therefore, this car is probably one of the lightest 318ti chassis' BMW ever made. It's only $3000 for a well sorted out one. If you had more money than I did, plop in a LSD, coilovers and new rear subframe bushings and you'd be rocking track days and autocrosses. __________________ 2000 M5 -> 1996 318ti -> 1997 328i Instagram: ndrewchow YouTube: MINIzguy | | | 06-07-2015, 06:05 PM | #14 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2013 Location: NJ Posts: 373 | $2900 __________________ 2000 M5 -> 1996 318ti -> 1997 328i Instagram: ndrewchow YouTube: MINIzguy | | | 06-09-2015, 08:26 AM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Bump for a good guy... __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org!
