Default Euro 3.5" MAF retrofitting?

Hey guys,

need your help.
I tried searching this subject but couldn't find the correct thread...

I got a Euro 3.5" MAF and would like to put them on in the future...if I ever make it turbo or supercharged on M44.
I already have the matching silicone hoses and special pipings to fit all together.

However wanted to know if I am able to use this M3 MAF directly with current wiring connections and work fine with the DME?

has any one put it on before?

just today I tried it and it had very rough idle and almost engine died...
do I need to take out the ti sensor and put it in the M3 housing?

your info would be great!!
thanx in advance,

thanx in advance,
I run a 1995 M3 MAF on my turbo setup. The harness plug is the same for the ODB-II M44. You will need a new map on the DME since it will not run with a stock map. I peg the M3 MAF around 19psi and it throw a PD code but does not affect drivability or make the car lean out. I have run 24psi a lot of times and 29psi by accident 1 time. Barrie at Midnight can hook you up with tuning on the map if you need it.

I might be looking into going to a 3.5" MAF soon since I run a Metric motor and can boost 30psi no problem so a 3.5" MAF would better fit my setup.

Best, John Smith

you will need a re-tune and resistor wired in for the 3.5inch maf to work correctly
