Jess - are you using a crank scraper on your setup? | Lol, my original pan had a few hairline cracks and was leaking. Picked this one up for 75 bucks a while back. No cracks, just a lil dirty. What's a crank scraper? | | | 04-22-2009, 05:02 AM | #5 | Moderator Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: SoCal318ti Posts: 1,574 | Very Nice Jess! Which, by the way, shouldn't have an oil pan on the leather seat... My Aunt gave it to me for Christmas a couple years ago. The garage is a disaster right now. I need to spend an afternoon putting things back in order.I'm sure yours is much cleaner. I'm scratching my head now, wondering what the heck is a crank scraper is | | | 04-22-2009, 05:13 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | http://www.crank-scrapers.com/What%2...k-scraper.html Oh, and trust me, my garage is bad now... To make it worse it's just a one car garage that hasn't had a car in it since 2003... __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. IIRC, my engine does have an integrated baffle/crank scraper. It looks like an OEM part. | | | 04-22-2009, 09:03 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | you sure do like polishing stuff, I don't think anyone's going to have a shinier engine than you once you're done | | | 04-22-2009, 09:25 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: Rocky Hill, CT Posts: 1,065 | Jess, this engine is going to look AMAZING. I'm jealous, I wish I had the time to clean up my motor like this and have it hang on the stand for a while. I'd LOVE to do it. I tried to get dad to before we dropped the diesel into his truck, but he said f-it, it's not a show truck (which is very true). I vote this one turns to a coffee table, and you get a new dirty one for the car __________________ 1995 318TI base. 95 2.5L from 325IS. S50 cams+pistons, e36 M3 front brakes. H&R race springs F+R.
