It says to avoid severe loads and take it in to a BMW dealer without delay. Naturally. How does it do in the manual position? __________________ ... ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ | | | 04-07-2008, 02:15 AM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | It is going into safe mode. if you are experiencing that when it is shifting in 4th gear it could be the 3rd to 4th solenoid is messed up... When you shut off the car and restart you should get a check engine light. Have you had that code read? It will usually give you a little bit more of an idea about the problem. But if you want to keep driving that car with that transmission you really need to get a good transmission person to look at it. You'll probably find that the money to fix it is not worth it. | | | 04-09-2008, 01:33 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: cary, nc Posts: 2,259 | Sounds to me like a Catastrophic Transmission Failure Fo Sho! __________________ 1995 318ti Active Pioneer Speakers [] Aluminum Billet door locks [] ACS Pedals/Deadrest [] ACS Shift Knob / E-Brake Handle [] Clear Corners/Tails/Sides [] Sylvania Exterior Lighting [] Custom CAI [] Dinan Engine Chip [] Dinan Transmission Chip [] H&R Race Springs [] Tokico Illumina Shocks [] BMW X-Brace [] Relocated Lighter Mod [] Custom iPod Mod http://www.cardomain.com/id/robcarync | | | 04-19-2008, 04:47 AM | #5 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: so cal Posts: 3 | do you guys think i could sell it as is and how much should i ask for it? | | | 04-19-2008, 03:27 PM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Wisconsin Posts: 1,895 | Did you at least get an estimate for repair? __________________ ... ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
