Looks like it needs a lot more work getting the lines straight and making sure everything is even and symmetrical. I'm usually not one that likes home made body kits because unless you really know what you are doing, it is going to look, well, homemade..

it doesnt look toooo tooo bad. just hard to tell really cuz it needs to be painted. but still good for DIY. but judging by the pics the left, passenger side, looks more boxed or square than the driver side. to me that is. unless if the pic was taken at an angle.

yeah im still tryin to work out all the kinks but
i think the angles of the pictures are different too.
ive worked alot with fiberglass but only with speaker enclosures
so this has been a challenge for me. but its damn fun,
alot cheaper then buying a bodykit, and the possiblities are endless.
for any who are interested i got all of my inspiration from a forum called
fiberglassforums.com.

Um, have you considered that:
1. you have about 3 inches of clearance
2. you have the full height base springs
3. you live in the snow belt
4. need I continue?

I hate to be negative and I've tried so hard to restrain myself ever since you've first started this thread, and I know I'm not the only one. But GeeezusFreakinKrist, that has to be the most retarded looking thing that I've ever seen! I admire your courage and bravery to dive into such a huge project, but I have to agree with 96cali and the 3,000 other members that are affraid to speak up. Body kits look hideous on BMW's to begin with and the fact that you're doing this to a vehicle @ stock ride height makes it even worse. I've seen many succesful DIY's and then every once in a while something like this surfaces. I want you to finish this project, because it will be a lesson learned and you could look back later and laugh at how silly this is. 99% of the e36 bodykits on the market are poor in taste, and I'm leaving 1% for a bodykit that I haven't seen yet. Those are professionally manufactured and they usually yield cheap looking results. In your case, there's nothing good that could come out of this. It's just going to look worse as you progress. If it really means that much to you, do yourself a favor, spend an extra 50 bucks and just buy one of those cheap bodykits and call it done without wasting countless hours shaping, sanding, cutting and getting flamed.

BTW, mods if you feel that this post was uncalled for, please feel free to delete it, but I'm not backing down from this one. I'll leave it at that and remain quiet from here on out.

wow jess, you okay bud? lmfao

im not gonna hate, nor praise at this moment.... but i will give you total props for attacking a project like this!

from my perspective...

I think you definitly went a little overboard trying to make it so low... if you took off a 3-4 inches and did what you have done with the sides, it would look much better.

Im assuming you don't plan on lowering your vechile... but your putting alot of work into something thats gonna bust easily... if you hit anything with that, that fiberglass is going to shatter and fxck your whole bumper up and then everything you did is going to be a big waste of time....

to be honest, i don't think it looks half bad other than you trying to make it so so so low on stock ride height... there is just too much 'blank' space there..... maybe make the grill a little wider and extend down a little more....

i really don't know what else to say right now other than i think you just went a tad overboard with it...

Cool man, good luck with that. Like I said, you're a bigger man than me for jumping into such a big project and being original. I know it's a work in progress and not even close to being finished, so I won't rip on it anymore. The cool thing is that if you ever change your mind, you could always remove it and start over since it's fiberglass. Where do you get your materials? I need to purchase some fiberglass in bulk and don't have a clue where to go. I was thinking about a boatyard or a place that specializes in boat repairs. I'm getting ready to make a fiberglass sub enclosure, perhaps you could share some ideas.

Here's a couple of custom e36 bodykits that I came across on the net, maybe these will help inspire:
