Default trailing arm question

Can you use an e30 trailing arm on the 318ti?

well there are a lot of e30's at junkyards so i figured it would be cheaper if i just went to the junkyard instead of buying a new one.

Not sure which parts are a direct sway, but some parts should fit. Check realoem.com and compare part numbers.

I don't think so...

They don't share any of the same part numbers. They might be close, but they aren't the same part. If you can get your hands on two of them to compare I'd be interested to see how close they actually are.

The E30, except the M3, has four lug pattern. So u cannot use it.

I used a 97 -z3 arm....but I think the rotors are specific as are the shock bolts, and the ebrake cable....

Hi,

I'm likely buying an e30 in a couple days and I'd just like to confirm with someone that an e30 trailing arm WILL swap with my 318ti trailing arm.

Guys does anybody know if the ebrake cables of the Z3 trailing arms fit the ti? The part numbers are different

Hi, apparently, I was suffering from last minute jitters and forgot that the suspension diagram in the Bentley manual is for an e36 and not the 318ti. I guess I'm getting overly excited about finally fixing my car. I've already got the solution for the 4-lug/5-lug problem. Once I swap the rear ends, I'll take off the center nut, remove the entire wheel hubs and swap those. The splines on the ti and e30 half shafts should be the same so I should not have an issue there.

I'll try to make sure I take lots of pics. . . though all I have is the camera on my phone and do things in a step by step manner so I can hopefully contribute a writeup to the forum.
