He's such tool. He drives a really old beat up cop car and thinks he's cool. He said he could kick my ass in a straight line or in the curves. I just laughed. We know the 318ti is a great car, otherwise we would not have bought one. Right? And anybody who uses "gay" as an insult just proves he's a tool. I don't get how that's supposed to be a bad thing. | | | 08-15-2011, 07:16 AM | #27 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Los Angeles, CA Posts: 1,464 | Quote: Originally Posted by familytruckster Meh, my Country Squire has more than double the HP and tq of the ti, and handles better....But I still like the ti. | A Country Squire that handles better than a ti? I would think that just on wheelbase alone, the ti could out handle something like that. Surely you're not dealing with a stock suspension...? The funny thing is, practically everyone I've noticed that rips on the ti drives a 3-series themselves. It's almost like they're trying to say: "This was as much BMW as I could afford, but I still feel the need to be superior to SOMEBODY." The sad thing is, too many people in the US buy a BMW because they feel it lends them some sort of status or prestige, and probably the root reason why so many like to disparage the ti- it is, after all, an economy car, but the real reason the rest of us drive one is because, like most other German cars, they are exceptionally well engineered and just flat out fun to drive! Also? I think someone else said on the other thread - the specialist areas are useful, the 'general' areas are a bit crap. Mind you I know/use several forums where that is the case. I think you just have to assume that there are a lot of dickheads on the net and set your filter to screen them out. Otherwise you end up going mental. ETA... ohhh wait a second I didn't realise BF.com and BF.co.uk are different sites... in which case disregard what I said! | ha ha ha. no man, bf.com in the US is very similar, which is why i rarely post on it. being that i was (and still am) new to bmw's, i had a lot of questions and never really got any answers. this forum on the other hand is very supportive. i have NEVER see someone get 'flamed' on here or told to 'use the search' when they had a legitimate, un-answered question. __________________ Quote: Originally Posted by bubela I’m happy in my blissful ignorant euphoria!
