SOLD after high-ethanol fuel ate the engine Sold the car to my garage, they engine swapped and use it as a loaner for clients... Nice car; ****ty MPG compared to the more powerful 6cyls.
Due to persistent problems with oil consumption and intermittent stalling, this car was sold to our dealer who engine-swapped it and added it to their fleet of loaners. This E46 320i was a very refined cruiser, and the engine really sang when opened up, however the M54B22 engine was surprisingly thirsty and actually delivered worse MPG than a 328i/330i - thereby negating any savings on vehicle tax and insurance conferred by the smaller displacement engine. She has now been replaced with an e46 330d Touring, a significantly faster car that still averages 45 mpg (imperial).
