The Key Chip is literally a chip inside the key that corresponds with the EWS and the DME. Use all three from the donor car and you should be good to go! (The antennae ring around the key cylinder is not specific to a car's DME, EWS or key, it is simply what reads the key chip info and sends it back to the EWS for verification. No need to swap it as well). __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. That's soo great to hear I'm gonna buy the donor car and start as soon as I finished SAT's So the only downside is that I will have 2 keys for the car One for the ignition and one for the doors/hatch But that's not much of a downside compared to the upside lol I'm so fricken excited | | | 02-09-2013, 03:43 AM | #5 | Member Join Date: Mar 2012 Location: U.S.A. You only need to swap the key chip from your TI key with the chip from the donor 328is. This way you don't need to try and swap tumblers and cylinders, just the chips. Then you can use your original TI key with the 328is chip inside it. __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion.
