The odd thing is it has a BMW San Diego dealership license frame. | | | 10-04-2010, 05:35 AM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | I want one of those, probably too late in the production run for them to start bringing them over though | | | 10-18-2010, 05:16 AM | #5 | Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: beaufort sc Posts: 38 | nice, kinda jealous of whoever that is. only thing wrong is its got two too many doors and a few too many pounds. still love it. | | | 10-18-2010, 06:53 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | I love the rear on those, but dislike the front... I remember someone did a photoshop on a 1 series and replaced the front lights with something resembling a e30 or e34. Looked amazing... It will be interesting to see what styling changes come down the pipline now that Bangle is gone... __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion. I'd like to go on the record as stating that BANGLE SUCKS!.... Thank God he's out!!!... Lets hope BMWNA actually starts to think about bringing in some of these true euro wonders over, too bad they concentrate too much on branding BMW as a top end luxury brand... as long as that is the mentality we'll never get these cool little cars over here. __________________ 2LT Rodriguez CA ARNG TURBO 96' Sport, Alaska Blue, Auto Custom JohnBoy Turbo, Midnight-Tunning Software, HKS BOV, e-Pod Gauge Pod, BavAuto Springs, Bilstein Sport, e30 3.73 LSD, Depo P36, Apexcone 55w HID, OEM Spoiler, M3 Lip, M3 Mesh Grill, Crossdrilled Rear Rotors, M3 Front Brakes, Sparco 3 point Harness, Euro M3 Wheel, K&N cone, Clear Corner/Sides/Tails, M3 Center Console & Arm-rest, M3 Red Cluster Needles, M3 Mirrors & Side Skirts, RD Exhaust, DS-1 wheels!... | | | 10-19-2010, 10:43 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2008 Location: Globally Posts: 1,162 | Waiting patiently for the new M135i got to see the fender glimpse and it was hot. | | | 10-20-2010, 12:29 AM | #9 | Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: beaufort sc Posts: 38 | the new m1 that they are showing bits and peices of does have a hot color on it. I use to paint cars and I've seen and painted alot of complex paint and that looks like it would rock to be spraying.... hot color. got a wicked look from the teaser that shows the rear bumper.... still want the 1series, 3 door, diesel, auto start stop function (maybe) even the slowest diesel they have, even better, and i want it for 25-27 grand. gimme wind up windows & cloth. even better. | | | 10-24-2010, 09:01 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2010 Location: Southwest England Posts: 379 | Quote: Originally Posted by yoda Nice... It's always a couple of very subtle changes to the lines of the car, usually the side skirts will accentuate the middle of the car, and it'll be on fairly small rims for the size of the body. Then on the 'sports' and 'luxury' versions, the side skirts are tweaked back into place making the wheel arches look bgger and more flared and they put the right size wheels on. The result is that the standard edition looks like a fat man with short legs, and the sport version looks like a guy in reasonable shape for his height. Some cars can just about get away with this 'uglification' - the e46 3-series sedan, for example. But the 1-series, and in particular, the 5-door just looks WRONG. But I think overall the fault doesn't lie 100% with Bangle, it's also in what has been done with his original designs in order to make the top-end cars look better than the standard ones. I don't think many people would call an e90 M3 ugly, for example. The standard e91 touring is pretty homely, but again, the M-Sport pack makes all the difference, das ist ein sexywagon, Ja? the e36 ti is the same, arguably the M-sport editions are how it is MEANT to look, the base model is how it looks once you take away all the nice bits to save money. If you're gonna buy a 1-series hatchback though, it NEEDS to be the 3-door M-sport. Preferably in silver-grey with red leather interior. Or perhaps Avus with black. this one is nice: Last edited by vsonix; 10-24-2010 at 09:20 PM. | | | 11-02-2010, 09:43 PM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Oct 2010 Location: Fürth, Bavaria, Germany Posts: 156 | I´m astonished the you have a seperate sub board for the 1-series. Is this type so seldom in the states? On my daily way to work I see dozens of this type. | | | 11-02-2010, 11:09 PM | #12 | Senior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: norcal - 94590 Posts: 3,186 | The US market only got the 1series coupe & cabriolet, and only the 6cyl gas versions... No 4 cyl, no diesel, no hatch or wagon... It has not been a big seller here. __________________ James 95 active w/leather interior and sport interior conversion, Vaders, full M-Tech exterior conversion.
