I took the advice of a friend and switched to Mobile 1 synthetic, 10-40, about five bucks a quart at my local Wal-Mart. I had been running conventional Castrol GTX 10-40. Friend said his engine ran noticeably smoother on synthetics. I think my ti does, too. Has anyone else had that experience after switching to synthetic oil? I got a new leather M gearknob off someone on another forum breaking a 323i, pulling the old worn gearknob off was hard work, I pulled and pulled and pulled; it refused to shift then all of a sudden...
