Holy crap, those pics show off alot of upgrades/details/thoroughness I don't think I was aware of... Bravo!

I know this probobly isn't an interesting question to ask, but do you have any details about the S50 exhaust setup? I'm looking to build a system similar to it for my S52 and trying to learn as much as possible first...

You can email Randy if you have a specific question, otherwise there are pictures of it in the original photo album.

Talking Racing Dynamics K55

Hi guys,

I am the only guy with a RD K55 Hurricane ti - because only one was ever built. Unfortunately I live in Germany so we will never have the opportunity to "race" against each other (V12 italian-modified BMW-power vs. american v8-Compact). If you want to have some information about my K55 I recommend the following site: http://www.theautochannel.com/public...dynamics.frame

This is the best report about the K55 available in the internet.
As you can see the car has 427 HP. The weight of the engine is not a problem, cornering is very good. This is astonishing, but thatīs the way it is.
I can guarantee you that never any BMW (I am talking about non-supercharged engines, because such comparisons wouldnīt make sense) has managed to burn my K55 on a straight road. The only one which I presume would cause me some problems is a new M6. The fascinating thing about the K55 is the quality of the work that has been done in this car - imagine that this was back in 1994 (18 inch wheels at that time on a ti, unbelievable - at least in Europe). I bought the car in January this year, it had only 2000 km on the clock and is like new. It had been sold from Racing Dynamics to Fondmetal, than Breyton and finally to the guy whom I bought it from. Noone ever had used the car - donīt ask me why.

Well, hope you guys donīt mind that a German guy enters your american site, but I thought you might be interested into the info about the K55.

I hope you read the Car-channel test (internet-address given above), maybe we can then keep further contact and have some fun.

By the way, the chevy-V8 installed in the ti is a great engine, but I have to admit that the combination engine/car causes me some headache. Otherwise I like the car - except for the exhaust-tip which looks like from a diesel (gasoline) car. I would install one single, fat (approx. 8 cm) straight exhaust tip.

All the best,
ferrarista

The 357ti doesn't exist any more. It's been dismantled and the parts all sold, the wrecked shell went to the crusher.

It is really funny that the exhaust tip ended up being one of the most controversial parts of the car, but it performed exactly as designed for sound management on the race track by being able to rotate it away from the monitoring stations.

People make fun of the push rod 350 saying it is out dated technology, that the specific power isn't high, however they fail to realize that it is a very light and compact engine. DOHC engines are bulky and large, sure they make higher specific power, but it is hard to fit them in some engine bays and they can throw off the weight balance. The LS1 weighs about the same as the S50, but is twice as much displacement with a lot more horsepower.
