The little metal pop up flap does pretty well deflecting the wind. Reach up and pull it down at about 80mph with the roof all the way open. You'll be shocked at the difference in makes. | | | 05-01-2006, 01:54 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Tyler, TX Posts: 1,022 | They're functional, but they look ugly. I'd pass. | | | 05-01-2006, 02:08 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | I have one and don't know if it really does anything. I think it takes away from the styling. It's been on there so long that the color probably is different underneath. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti 2003 MINI Cooper S 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 05-01-2006, 04:43 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Saint Paul, MN Posts: 3,244 | visually, bad idea. __________________ My Former Rides 1999 318ti Alpine White, Cali Roof, Dinan goodies 1996 318ti Hellrot California Edition | | | 05-01-2006, 04:50 PM | #6 | TRETEN IRGENDEINES ESELS Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Rhode Island Posts: 3,687 | I saw one on a silver ti that was parked at the end of my street all last year and thought it was ugly looking on the ti. I personally think that it would look better without one, but it's been on there for so long that I'm not sure if I should take it off or what. *shrug* | | | 05-05-2006, 09:34 AM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2003 Location: cary, nc Posts: 2,259 | visually, bad idea. __________________ 1995 318ti Active Pioneer Speakers [] Aluminum Billet door locks [] ACS Pedals/Deadrest [] ACS Shift Knob / E-Brake Handle [] Clear Corners/Tails/Sides [] Sylvania Exterior Lighting [] Custom CAI [] Dinan Engine Chip [] Dinan Transmission Chip [] H&R Race Springs [] Tokico Illumina Shocks [] BMW X-Brace [] Relocated Lighter Mod [] Custom iPod Mod http://www.cardomain.com/id/robcarync | | | 05-05-2006, 05:58 PM | #10 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | My 318 is the quietest sunroof I've ever owned... What would you need it for? You can always just open it in vent mode anyway.... Trying to figure this out.....
