Suggestions? Original owner. I never replaced or even touched the factory speakers. The ones in the back are starting to buzz and vibrate-sound. I've seen some YouTube videos where guys have had to get creative to shoe-horn aftermarket speakers. I'd love to just unplug, unscrew & replace with new ones, but I suspect it won't be that easy. Can someone recommend a source for new speakers, and should I replace ALL TEN SPEAKERS, or just the buzzy ones in the back? (The ones mounted in the doors, etc are not buzzing and sound fine.) | | | 10-30-2016, 11:02 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2011 Location: SoCal Posts: 702 | Quote: Originally Posted by djcamera Original owner. Minimal gains. The stock setup does really upgrade and a proper amp needs to power the speakers if you want some kick. It's very easy to install a sub. I tossed a simple 10" in the rear with Class D amp. Doesn't pull a lot of power and will be better than easy speakers you buy for the money. | | | 10-31-2016, 12:31 AM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2011 Location: Atlanta Posts: 12 | Hey, thanks a MILLION for this info. So, with that adapter, a new speaker will just line right up and tighten down in the same spot as the old one? Just like that? I looked into an install from BAVSOUND and some other places and it's expensive. If I can do this myself, I'll be king of the world. You should have plenty of space. No 5.25 with the stock amp will provide any real bass but if the paper ones are torn/blown then anything will be better. I highly recommend a small, even 8 or 6 inch subwoofer. Wiring through the passenger side firewall takes 15 minutes then just bury under carpet or floor mats. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
