Induction Recommendations? Anyone know of currently available supercharger or turbo kits? If your car truly has 62k miles, it's probably pretty original, so please do not try to mod it out too much! __________________ '96 318ti California Edition- Montreal blue '68 1600-2-Caribe blue | | | 11-07-2015, 04:28 PM | #3 | Member Join Date: Nov 2015 Location: Vermont, USA Posts: 33 | Quote: Originally Posted by FunElan Welcome to the forum! Just would like to give it a bit more power if I end up keeping it. 5-Speed, was one-owner car before myself, always garaged! | | | 11-08-2015, 05:58 PM | #4 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2015 Location: NC Posts: 29 | Quote: Originally Posted by FunElan Welcome to the forum! If it has 62k enjoy it's "youth". As my friend says, more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. How did you get this TI? Contours, Tint and maybe a new stereo. That's about it. Turbo kits are available on Ebay but you need to change some of the parts in the kit for a good install... Also I agree with keeping it stock...You can read my turbo build on the sticky and see a wild turbo build with a $12,000 I-4 motor. Ran it for years and just sold the complete car to a local racing team. John S Last edited by xxxJohnBoyxxx; 11-09-2015 at 01:02 AM. I'd like to boost the 4, but would it be better to just swap in a S50? It costs me $13K for a solid 500hp I-4 | | | 11-13-2015, 06:17 PM | #13 | Member Join Date: Nov 2015 Location: Vermont, USA Posts: 33 | Quote: Originally Posted by xxxJohnBoyxxx Swap with good cams and a good tune for the setup and you will be happy. Turbo kit on the I-4 will get you there too with better gas mileage. Turbo kits on Ebay or look at the swap threads for I-6 swap. Again I-6 with schrick cams and a good tune will get you the HP you are looking for. DASC or roots blower has to have the Meth kit to cool the intake charge which will be around 212 degs on a summer day, No good but with meth injection it chemically cools the charge to acceptable levels and meth really adds octane to the charge so detonation is not an issue. PNosker and I have done the 15psi dasc with meth and got excellent results.
