See pics. No check engine lights, runs great, paint is like new, not faded in any way, the red actually looks deep red not pink, interior is in descent shape for the age, has heated seats, alarm and keyless entry, see my post under vin run for complete build sheet. As always lots of typically worn parts replaced: antenna grommet engine mounts tranny mounts valve cover and intake powder coated red to match exterior color valve cover gasket, oil passage grommet replaced mobil 1 fully synthetic oil change and filter driveshaft flex disc (guibo) was replaced, along with the centering ring replaced the oil filter housing gasket and o-rings replaced both coolant connectors, and fresh new blue bmw coolant all four new jack pads installed, they were missing tubing for windshield washer fluid replaced all dry rotted vacuum lines replaced brand new laser iridium spark plugs newer complete stainless exhaust system various plastic mouldings replaced, clips etc. I'm sure I am missing something so I'll update if I need to. Vehicle was in a small accident before, front bumper cover had to be repainted, hood had to be replaced and painted, as well as the front header piece with a new kidney grille installed. Brakes are good all around. Has the vented front rotors. All it needs as of today is a new passenger side door air bag which I am trying to locate right now, if I have to I'll bite the bullet and buy it from the dealer. I got this ti almost to cream puff level at this point. It's a nice one. Asking $5K, but will consider any reasonable offers. Before you ask why I am selling it, for one I have too many cars, and two, I love working on these ti's and saving them from the auction, and when I see one for sale such as this one I cannot resist buying it, I never owned a california roof one until this one, my first car was a ti and there is just too much love there, I even had installed a dasc in one before, I am done working on this one, so here it is, onto its new home. BTW, I did not figure in any sentimental value into the asking price, even though shes worth it. Thanks. Last edited by performanceisland; 04-10-2015 at 01:50 AM. The satisfaction is there, nevertheless. Thanks! | Thanks for the appreciation, believe me I've had about a dozen ti's in the last decade and a half and didn't make any money on even one, for me it's a hobby, I am not really a dealer, just have access to buy from a Insurance Auto Auction, this is a private sale, so no terrible taxes either, in my state it's $25 flat fee for taxes on this vehicle. Here are a few more pics.... | | | 04-11-2015, 03:45 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2012 Location: Sacramento, CA Posts: 2,451 | Very nice! Thanks for saving these, especially a 99 Cali. I'll mention this to a friend who is looking for an Auto for his wife. Not sure he'd make the trip to Chicago tho... Looks like it has heated seats and the OBD option as well on a Sport. Same options as mine. I would if I was looking. __________________ 1998 318ti Sport - "Cali" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, Cali top 1998 318ti Sport - "Max" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior, S52 1997 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Schwartz II/Schwartz sport interior 1995 318ti Active - "Blanca" Alpineweib III/Schwartz leather interior Other Current Bimmers: 2006 530i / 2000 2.3L Z3 / 1997 1.9L Z3 / 1999 540it 1997 318ti Sport - "Huera" - RIP 1995 318ti Active - RIP 1995 318ti Sport - "Tiny" Sold 1994 325i Sedan - "Jade" - Sold 1991 318ic - "Bert" - Sold 1985 635csi sold 1984 533i "Max" Sold 1984 318i sold BMWCCA #160411 SUPPORT 318ti.org! RealOEM lists it for $4,693.83 54112267351 (bavauto lists 9724.95 & PelicanParts 10492.75) ! The motor alone is $450. The one of the motor's gear tends to strip and is unrepairable, unfortunately. there is a convertible top treatment from BMW that will make the faded tops look better. Funny people have no clue how to care for a canvas topped car anymore. I read in one post tho, that a member here in San Francisco had his top replaced for >$2100 from Peter Pan BMW. More than 5 years ago. My last new Cali top motor from BMW was $275 from Pelican. To address the probability of the top eventually breaking, I acquired a spare top or two for that eventuality. (You really have to like Cali's, I do) I am currently testing a set of printed gears from Mike and if they prove durable, it will present a repair option for our motors. I just spoke to another Cali owner here in Sacramento and am encouraged that another Cali is available for an aspiring future owner. Needs some TLC, but nothing major. The person who is lucky enough to acquire this car should realize there is a degree of maintenance and future probable repair in trade for the open air enjoyment. I might be a bit biased...
