Default 6 cylinder guys - what exhaust??

Hi everybody, first post here. What are you guys doing about a muffler? I'm running a standard OBD2 midpipe (well, it's a Borla catless straightpipe, but dimensionally, it's the same as stock obd2 e36). What do? Is there a stock muffler that will bolt in place, are are you guys all just having a shop just weld one up?

Welcome. You will not likely get many replies because this topic has been covered at length in several other (similar) threads. Some searching will yield the information you seek.

Sorry I didn't reply on BF. I cut and weld the mufflers for my 332ti(s). Just buy a E36 M3 setup and take it to an exhaust shop. It should be minimal labor to shorten it a bit.

Thanks. I've searched, but didn't find much.

Ham, you said m3 muffler - there's no way a stock m3 muffler fits back there, is there?

I'm sure you could modify and shorten a stock m3 cat back to fit the ti

Dual mcoupe mufflers, single 2.5" header back, straight 2.5 and glasspack. Lots of options. Cheaper to have a full exhaust made than a bunch of name brand parts to be hacked and welded, etc.

I have an e36 m3 stromung that I cut/hacked/shortened/welded to a fairly stock m3 mid pipe.

I don't think any two people have the same. You'll just have to custom one up... Let us know what you decide on.

Custom piping 2.5" from the headers to the back here with a high flow cat. And a Borla xr-1 race muffler... Not really necessary but it fits and it sounds nice to me... Also no resonator so its a little loud but I don't mind it on my 330ti because it has the power/speed to back it up.
