Default Hey, new Ti owner here...

Just picked up my first Ti last sunday up in Newton, MA with a blown headgasket. It's a '98 Base w/ sunroof in Avus and looks pretty good. I'm deciding whether or not to fix the M44 or swap in an M50TU (along with GC/Koni 5-lug suspension) that is inhabiting my E30 Track car. I have an S50 swapped E34 wagon that I built for my dad, daily drive an '89 325i, and have a '91 318i track car (the aforementioned). I also have a crashed '83 euro 528i built by Schnitzer back before the M5 was around. Anyways, glad to be here as there is a lot of information on the search engine and will guide me in fixing my Ti. -Ben P.S. I've seen a Hellrot with M-clading (possible clubsport?) and an M3 rear exhaust, front bumper and other add ons running around my parents area in Hamden/North Haven, CT and am wondering if its anyone on here?

Ben, the Hellrot Clubsport is a CT chapter member. He is a Zymol distributor/detailer.

Thanks guys! The wagon is a beast and I've even done a few track days with it at Lime Rock Park. Swapped in the S50 @ 187K in 2007/2008, it's currently got 255K and still running strong.

Greg, I haven't been to a club meeting an a year or so, maybe its time I get more involved with the local BMWCCA.

In other news, I just picked up a '98 328i 5-speed Avus Sedan, so the drivetrain from that is going in the Ti!

Nice choice for your drive train swap. The 2.8 is a very dependable engine. Puts out 189 horsepower, I think. M engines are too high strung for my taste and budget. With the 2.8 you get a ZF transmission.

Thanks for the compliments guys! Here's some of the car and then some of the donor 328i. Not a bad buy on the 328i for $700 Still need to give her a serious bath and buff tho.

Welcome aboard!
