Now, tape off the part of the lip you want to remain yellow (or whatever color you choose to use). make sure the tape is down really good and the edges are cut nice and clean. Lay down two to three coats of black (or whatever your main rim color will be) again you can sand or not. if you do sand use upwards off 800 grit and wet sand untill it feels smooth. remove the tape and you should have a nice clean border. now apply two to three coats of clear coat. Remount and enjoy. allow proper amount of dry time as outlined by paint label hope that helps __________________ ***Derek*** ^^Lola^^ Pioneer radio/ Pioneer 6-Disk CD Changer/ JBL 601.1 Grand Touring Amplifier/ Bilstein Sport shocks/ Bilstein e36sedan springs/ Green LED Courtesy Lights Accident Counter: 3... | | | 01-17-2012, 10:14 AM | #25 | Member Join Date: Sep 2011 Location: Toronto/Munich Posts: 83 | Hey Rochey, thanks that info. is great. I am doing the rims in traditional silver (normal rim finish) although lately I have contemplated doing a Avus blue colour thin (4mm) strip around the edge because my car is Avus and I think it might look good, because Avus is a dark color, without looking cheesey or racer-ish. Still on the fence though, and leaning towards just a traditional re-finish. ACS Type II's don't need help when it comes to looking good lol. | | | 01-17-2012, 08:40 PM | #26 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2010 Location: Scranton/Wilkes-barre area PA Posts: 454 | Yep not a problem.
