Default bolt behind the gas pedal

What is the bolt behind the gas pedal for besides a stop? and can i adjust it to get more throttle, the engine is very weak and sluggish when starting off until i reach the higher rpms. is there anyway to help with this also?

It's a button for nitrous. You slam the gas pedal down, and boom you have 300hp at your feet. Your can is probably empty from previous owners, so you probably have to fill it up. It's located next to the spare tire in the back.

Leave it alone.
You have other issues.
No crack in the intake?

It's a typical 4 banger, no real power till over 3500 or so.... I usually see it called a "turbo" button.. lol

I lol'd maverix, thanks.

but seriously, whats the purpose? Just a stop?

Matt318, like Steve mentioned, check all your rubber hoses and boots for cracks, I bet you'll find one. Have you given her a tune up (plugs, wires, oil, ect...)?

I believe it's just a stop. Just like the clutch stop.

yeah, the guy i bought it from is a master mechanic, he replaced the head water pump and radiator and plugs and wires i think. also i forgot to mention, i think the maf is bad because every so often the engine will almost stall, rpms dont matter.

That button downshifts into the lowest safest possible gear. So if your car is in 4th gear while doing 45 and you press the throttle all the way and press the button, it will immediately shift into second.
