That guy hasn't aged a day since the 80's. Seats were awesome, I was like 5 rows back from the stage so we were level with the performers, not looking up or down at them. Also, he faced in our direction the majority concert. Sheila E. made a guest appearance and performed "The Glamorous Life". Unbelievable show! | | | 05-08-2011, 11:42 PM | #197 | Junior Member Join Date: Apr 2011 Location: Bay Area, CA Posts: 26 | Prince is a bad-ass mofo! I don't care what anybody says...being a semi-pro musician myself, I totally appreciate the fact he still has the creative spark and is still very much relevant in the homogenized world of popular music. There are only as handful of musician/artists in the world today who can write, arrange, record/engineer, produce, and distribute all by themselves. Not to mention being a total monster multi-instrumentalist. Yeah....I give it up for the man. | | | 05-09-2011, 01:12 AM | #198 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Yeah, I've wanted to see Prince since I was a little kid. So much talent, so much funk. It goes way beyond his music too. His style and everything he's done to help young artists find their true talent. He brings out so much energy from his fans. The stadium was literally shaking, I thought it was going to colapse! After the show I was walking across the parking lot and it felt like I had just stepped off of an elevator or boat. I highly recommend seeing him in person. Even if you're not into his music, I'm sure there's at least one song that'll make you get up and dance! | | | 05-30-2011, 05:56 AM | #199 | Junior Member Join Date: May 2011 Location: Dalton, GA Posts: 9 | Quote: Originally Posted by E36/doode | classic | | | 06-08-2011, 07:28 PM | #200 | Senior Member Join Date: Feb 2009 Location: Ct Posts: 151 | Dunno if it has been mentioned... probably not, but... I am a particular fan of Track 13. Thats the name of the song... its from the pirates of the carribean soundtrack, like a hidden track or something, at the end. LOVE that song. I have a very eclectic taste in music, but I really like the upbeat instrumentals sometimes found in techno, but also classical music... but I listen to just about everything and am willing to give anything a try. I'll get a link up later. | | | 06-11-2011, 08:49 PM | #201 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2010 Location: Ottawa, ON Posts: 108 | | | | 06-11-2011, 10:23 PM | #202 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | | | | 07-15-2011, 07:38 AM | #203 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2011 Location: Australia Posts: 12 | Wow I have never heard of most of the music in this thread! But I guess that's because I NEVER listen to the radio and I don't watch television (Pop culture makes me grumpy). I only ever listen to metal (well, what I consider to be metal... but what does and does not fall into that genre and its sub-genres is a subject of great controversy). For example, I love '...And Justice for All' by Metallica (some consider it thrash metal, others hard rock, or any number of other labels). Whatever you call it, its freaking awesome!! Recently I've been listening to Devildriver, Lamb of God and Machinehead when I'm in my 318ti. Which actual song is best for driving would be hard to pick... although "Walk With me in Hell" by Lamb of God comes to mind | | | 07-18-2011, 05:00 PM | #204 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Wisconsin Posts: 1,895 | __________________ ... ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ | | | 07-18-2011, 05:58 PM | #205 | Member Join Date: Jun 2011 Location: monterey, ca Posts: 35 | ^ any kid that has ever thought twice about owning a motorcycle knows that tune. classic movie. | | | 07-18-2011, 10:19 PM | #206 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | My first bike was a YZ80 back when I was 10 years old. I've had several since then, but it wasn't until I picked up my last bike, a '73 CB350, that I felt like a kid again. Rode it for a few years until it threw a rod bearing, then instead of tearing it apart and fixing it, I sold it to some guy from Norway. Good memories on that old rocket. Riding on the freeway always brought this tune into my head: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V92OBNsQgxU | | | 07-19-2011, 07:27 AM | #207 | Member Join Date: Jun 2011 Location: monterey, ca Posts: 35 | not a big fan of music when driving. it ruins the experience, but if i do this is what i like to hear. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlMZ_...layer_embedded ^ like this? i still have one in my collection. that's my son on it. | | | 07-19-2011, 08:42 AM | #208 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | yep, mine was a K4, had drum brakes f&r: I couldn't agree with you more about driving without music. The engine makes the most beautiful music. | | | 07-27-2011, 03:24 AM | #209 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | | | | 08-02-2011, 01:58 PM | #210 | Member Join Date: Jul 2011 Location: Garner, NC Posts: 31 | Anything from the initial d soundtrack will make you speed | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
