I was impressed actually lol. Some guy thought I had a 6cy cause my exhaust lol. Everyone loved the rims and stance Haa. They thought it was a cool car, and when I told them my plans of the s52 they thought it was sweet. When I do the swap I'm gonna leave the 318 badge. Gotta love that sleeper status. The sound of an I6 without cats is the new badge. __________________ e46 325 brake upgrade, Dinan engine chip, UUC SS brake lines, UCC rotors, m68 17in wheels, Conti extreme contacts, Billstein sport shocks, H&R springs, M3 shock mounts, B&B triflow exhaust, K&N cone filter, Magnecor 8.5 wires, Meyle control arms with caster , Hawk ceramic pads, Understeer M3 SSK, UUC SS clutch line, 320 trans mounts. | | | 03-30-2011, 10:17 PM | #18 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Chicago Posts: 111 | I'm still using the stock 318 exhaust. Maybe when I have the custom (2.5, 2.75?) in exhaust built, it will sound a more aggressive. __________________ "Never trust a big butt and a smile" 97- 328Ti (daily) 01- S2K (auto-x, cruiser) 96- JDM Integra SiR-G turbo (1/4 mile, auto-x, road course, show) | | | 03-31-2011, 03:38 AM | #19 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2010 Location: Oakland Posts: 187 | I might be jaded (there are 4 318ti's at my work, and I own 2) but are ti's really considered rare? I am one of only two. And most of the time, the guy drives his Cooper S. __________________ "Never trust a big butt and a smile" 97- 328Ti (daily) 01- S2K (auto-x, cruiser) 96- JDM Integra SiR-G turbo (1/4 mile, auto-x, road course, show) | | | 04-01-2011, 02:00 PM | #21 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: detroit Posts: 157 | | | | 04-23-2011, 08:36 PM | #22 | Member Join Date: Mar 2010 Location: Winnipeg Canada Posts: 45 | Quote: Originally Posted by kuleinc I might be jaded (there are 4 318ti's at my work, and I own 2) but are ti's really considered rare? But that said, they are beamers so the ones that were sold (minus the written off ones) are usually still rolling. As far as I know there are only 3 in my whole city, including mine which I brought in from another Province. And in reference to the thread topic, I haven't swapped mine yet but plans are in the works. I think when it's done I would probably change the emblems, it can go either way really, I like the shaved look, but changing it adds a little bit of personality to it, but leaving it the same does let em wonder a little. So, it really comes down to your choice. Pros n Cons of each. Finishing up my Z3 swap into my ti. I've got the whole rear sub frame, 2.8 aluminum block engine, steering rack and 5 speed from the Z3 among other small Z parts. The car is now about half Z. Does it make any sense to add a "Z" in the badge? For example: 1. 328Zti 2. 328tiZ 3. 328Zit Ha! 4. 328ti 5. 318ti Sleeper 6. ? Putting the "Z" would make it too long on an already short deck. I can go for months w/o seeing a Ti in the area. Even at the local BMW meets, I am one of only 2 people owns a Ti, and the other person's is stock. I think I'll re-badge. The growl from the I6, definitely makes people wonder. __________________ "Never trust a big butt and a smile" 97- 328Ti (daily) 01- S2K (auto-x, cruiser) 96- JDM Integra SiR-G turbo (1/4 mile, auto-x, road course, show) | | | 09-23-2011, 08:08 PM | #26 | Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2010 Location: Potomac Falls VA DMV Posts: 1,794 | My S52'ed Ti is still badged 318ti, love the sleeper status.
