Te first (a 95) now has a 325 engine and runs great. I did the swap myself and I am very familiar with e36 electrics. This new one is a 98 auto (Mtech cali destined to be a manual 328ti) but the problem has me stumped. The cars electrics were cut up in the past and I have done my best at restoring them. I removed a Subwoofer and reconnected the numerous cuts to the radio harness. I also removed the remote start and aftermarket alarm abortion that had been cut into the oem alarm circuit and restored all the wires to the plug (no alarm/keyless is connected). 2 things are happening. I am getting a CEL with code 6c battery disconnected. I reset with the Peake and it comes right back. Most of the time when I operate the windows (left or right) the hazard lights come on. If I cycle the hazard switch they go off. Everything else seems OK (except for a bad trans and leaking PS pump) and the engine runs fine. I found a thread with the same "window hazards" problem but no resolution. I also seem to have one mystery brown wire (ground) hanging behind the glovebox that was spliced into the disgusting alarm and star harness I removed. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for your patience if you have read this far! | | | 07-15-2010, 03:02 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | is the ground behind the glovebox hooked up to anything? it might have just been added on for the alarm | | | 07-15-2010, 01:43 PM | #3 | Member Join Date: Nov 2008 Location: Parsippany, NJ Posts: 41 | Hey Freak you are right! The wire went into the engine compartment and was not connected to anything ( I did see a screw into the fender so it was most likely a ground). I trickle charged the battery overnight and will do more testing today. I found 2 posts on other forums that low voltage can throw a battery disconnected code. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
