I took up a part time job at 7-Eleven, and things are kind of sucky. Okay, this is kind of odd. How does one put this out there? Ok, I'll just spill the beans: I AM A WHITE GUY WORKING AT A 7 FREAKING ELEVEN! I don't know how it happened, but apparently God has a sense of humor. I basically have to tell the customers what the other guy I work with is saying, especially when they start threatening to bust his teeth in unless he starts talking normal English. Basically I translate English to...well, English. I guess it's good that I can tell what people are saying, no matter how thick their accent is. But, there is a downside to my employment. Everything that happens on my shift, is my fault. Only if it is bad. If it is good, we did our jobs. I basically am held to a higher standard than the others. I don't know if I should be proud, or upset because of the difference in attitudes towards me and my work when compared to the other employees. I came here to get advice from some third party personalities. Y'all seem to have good ideas on a lot of things, so maybe y'all have some thoughts as to how I should handle my current situation. |
