Default Window regulator maintenance?

Is there any preventative maintenance that can be done to prolong the life of the original window regulators, assuming they're still alright?

I used to replace the white bushings every couple years. Also when it's very cold, I lower the window slowly but giving the button short taps.

Sounds good to me. After all, it's a problem with the grease drying out and creating too much friction/resistance, correct?

Possibly. It's also a poor design.

Had mine replaced several years (3 -4) ago, not had any trouble since.

Any one noticed glue marks under the fabric by the windshield. Thought it was dirt, but was suggested that it may be glue.
