All my mods have been purchased in the past 4 weeks, and I still have the wheels, x brace, control arms, tie rods, and rear bushings to buy. Save me. | | | 11-06-2008, 08:28 PM | #293 | Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: MD Posts: 92 | question - would you guys prefer a signature for these things, or is it okay to just have them delivered on your doorsteps? Signatures could be a pain, but I'm not sure what your neighborhoods are like. oh, I do sell wheels. *winkwinknudgenudge* __________________ Chookeat | | | 11-06-2008, 08:42 PM | #294 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: Hawaii Kai Posts: 232 | Hehe what kind of wheels? There is always someone home by me, but the neighborhood is safe, so no sig needed. | | | 11-06-2008, 08:49 PM | #295 | Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: MD Posts: 92 | pretty much anything from the cheap $250/set wheels to the $3-4k for each wheel. Give me a make/model/fitment and I can look it up. By make/model, I mean brand/model for the wheel. __________________ Chookeat | | | 11-06-2008, 09:27 PM | #296 | Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: MD Posts: 92 | Orders placed! __________________ Chookeat | | | 11-06-2008, 09:30 PM | #297 | Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: Florida Posts: 90 | No sig needed here. I wouldn't want any sizes larger than 17" or heavier than 20 lbs each. Picky I know. Oh, and $3K a wheel is a bit much lol. I've been looking at the Kosei K1 17x8.5's from Tire Rack at $175 each and 16.8lbs. Definite difference as a daily driver or noticeable only during auto-x events? Anyone have experiences with the combo of x-brace, bigger sway bar, and strut tower brace on their 318ti's? My next suspension purchase will probably be a strut tower brace unless I can convince the wife to spend money on some bilsteins, etc. Just found out my wife purchaced an arm rest for the car, that will be a nice addition to the interior! Justin we purchased our X-Brace from this website: http://yhst-59326584023620.stores.ya...mw-xbrace.html My wife said the price and shipping to Hawaii were both cheaper than just about everywhere else she looked. I may have enough spare parts from my install that you may not need to go to City Mill for the suggested bolts and washers. __________________ 2005 Steel Blue 325ia: Upgrades/Mods: Lots. 1996 Alpine White: 318ti: Dinan Stage 1 Software. To answer your question, I had a Sparco unhinged front strut brace on a E36 328 with the H&R 28mm front swaybar. No Xbrace though. But I can tell you for sure the 28mm bar and that solid strut brace made for a very solid front end. You even noticed the strut brace stiffening up the front when going at an angle up a driveway, like the car wanted to correct that and flatten out. The stiffer swaybar will keep the front end camber curve in hard turns or emergency corrections. It will be night and day when you drive the car after we install the Eibach bar. I think you and your wife will be pleased in that choice. As far as purchasing a front upper strut bar, be careful, 99% of the ones for M42 and M44 cars are hinged and angle back towards the firewall. It has come to my attention that a straight, unhinged Mason Engineering bar (sold at Vorshlag.com) does indeed fit all 318 models. Which is amazing, because for just over $200, that is one solid piece of steel (or aluminum if you so choose to spend more). Other than that bar, I cannot recommend even the racing dynamics, eibach, bavauto, etc, etc. That is a real waste of $200. As far as 'this or that' Bilsteins vs front upper strut brace, DO THE SHOCKS! hehe Shocks are the single most important part of the suspension, next to good tires. If you want stock ride height, go with Bilstein Heavy Dutys, if you plan on using H&R sport or race, use the Bilstein Sports. Check out EAC tuning, Jared owns it and sold me a set of sports for about $500 shipped to my door. Cannot beat that (and they were drop shipped from Bilstein CA in ONE DAY to my door)! | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
