Dr. Pepper is not a Pepsi product but it is distributed regionally by Pepsi bottlers in most areas. DP has been linked with 7UP for years but these days they are part of the Cadbury-Schweppes group which includes such beverages as Dr Pepper, 7UP, A&W, Sunkist, RC Cola, Squirt, Peñafiel, Welch's, Snapple, Mott’s, Hawaiian Punch, Clamato, and Canada Dry. Regardless, it is one of only a handfull of sodas you can still buy with pure Imperial Cane Sugar. But you have to want it badly and mail-order it from one of the original DP plants near Waco, TX: Dublin Dr Pepper

My kids are now spoiled.

My history with BMW and Dr Pepper are inextricably linked. Back when I was still riding my 26" black Schwinn Sturmy-Archer 3-spd to the local BMW store in St. Louis, they had a big green DP vending machine with a slot-machine-type lever to dispense DP and DP-only, for a dime. So, messing with BMWs while drinking DP has been my history for over thirty-five years.

Prior to that my first summer job was making sure every customer in my Dad's childrens' shoe store was offered either an orange drink, chocolate milk, or the small glass bottles of Coke kept in a cooler in the front window of the store. When I couldn't get DP on the golf course, my half-way house drink of choice was Coke mixed with Chocolate milk.

You can actually get Dublin Dr. Pepper at a lot of gas stations/convenience stores around Dallas, TX where I now live. It's pretty good stuff -- soda with regular sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup.

And for some reason they like to load up DP with artificial sweeteners in the UK [as well as sugar]. That **** is bad..

When I driknk soda I prefer sprite or mist, but I would choose coke over pepsi any day. Pepsi is too sweet and Coke has been around for so long that back in the day it used to have cocaine in it when it was still legal.
