Default recharge A/C gas?

I need to recharge my freon, but I saw 2 valves. One is located to the front of the car near the radiator. The other is closed to the firewall on the passenger side. Does anyone know which one is the rechage valve?

R134a (e36 forward) ac's have 2 different size valves so you cannot hook up the charger wrong. If this is not the first time you have added regrigerent, I would also recommend you add a 2oz oil charge also.

Some of these A/c recharge kits have several size connectors to fit all cars - so it's possible to pick the wrong one & hook to the wrong side & blow up the can, so I don't blame him for wanting to be absolutely certain.
