Default 2nd Ti resurection :D

Since my Ti is getting up there on millage 146,xxx and one thing after another keeps going (differential being most recent) my dad and i have been looking for another e36 with some less millage. we came across a 95 ti with about 60K on it. It was in a front end collision in December and had been sitting since.the guy's wife told him to clean up the backyard lol. So we got this little low millage girl for $400 .

i started the tear down this afternoon and all the damaged parts are removed. Now, the plan is going to be to get a radiator set up on the car quick to see how the engine runs and if its all good she'll be off to get the inner fender straightened out.

The car is cosmoschwarts if i remember correctly. its black lol. The paint on the remaining panels is fair i would say. lots of small scratches all over. the interior is... "rough" its tan cloth interior and it looks super dingy. on top of that after the accident all the broken plastic from both cars involved in the accident ended up inside the TI. driver door panel is ghetto-tastic. i think tomorrow ill try to clean the interior some.

ok heres some pics for you guys

start of tear down:

hmm... where did that red nosepiece come from? carfax didnt mention any prior accidents?

inner fender damage:

the damage to the inner fender is a little rough but not terrible and its only on the passenger side.

interior:

Cool thing is my dad mentioned five speed swapping ten minutes after we started towing it home

ok, i'll bite!
looks like one hell of a project ya got there bro.
i think the end result will be worth it seeings that the motor has low miles and plenty of life left in her.
take your time and do it right...don't over-look small details.
that interior does look ghetto as hell...but you can replace a lot of it if you look in the right places.
doing a 5-speed swap would be dope...i'm a bit jealous!
good find.

probably from such a minor accident that they didn't report it to the insurance company

the damage doesn't look too bad, should make a decent project car as long as there's no hidden damage. looks like you scored a free cassette adapter too

Too bad you're not a little closer- I have a '95 Cosmosschwarz that has considerable damage to the rear end. Between the two of us, we could put a solid car together!

Are you sure there wasn't any damage to the frame rails?

the frame rails are quite good. minor damage within the first inch. other then that straight and true.

and aside from the cassette adapter there was actual cassette tapes under all that broken plastic!
