I know someone who has a silver sedan 335. His name is Alvin. Are we talking about the same guy?

It doesn't need park distance control, and hates decadence. It is musclepacked, yet lightly wound. It lets you feel the asphalt and get you going with the smallest touch of the pedal. It provokes, seduces, and demands to be driven hard. It looks, sounds, and smells like performance.

335i is a very nice alternative to the E46 M3! With the great success BMW is putting that engine into the 5 and 1 series. Now we can only hope to have BMW sell the 1 series in the USA soon.

I love the 335i, and I'm thinking of doing an ED on the new coupe either this fall, or next spring to replace my e90 330i. The e9x platform is increasingly heavy, but it feels real good on the road and track. I'm attaching a pic of mine...

Btw, I just bought mattc's 332ti yesterday. I'm officially a 2 bmw family now. So, I'd like to introduce myself. Howdy! (I should probably wait and post this in the other forum though)...

Btw, I hear StealthBimmer will be watching me to make sure I take care of the car... First thing will be a 3.23 diff and some koni adjustables.

They overheat easily... If you track the 335i you need to get some good cooling. I've seen two overheat driving in rush hour traffic.

Read: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...d.php?t=625687

Luckily, they're changing the cooling system design for this next model year and the 535i doesn't have the problem (larger engine bay) and the 135i prototype was designed with this in mind.

Pnosker- Not sure what was wrong with those cars but I was hanging out with a guy at Sebring this past weekend who was tracking his 335 coupe. He ran every single one of his sessions and he was pounding on that car. It was really fast. He burnt off about 1/4 of his tires on Sunday alone... His is chipped and he was saying it has way to much torque to really be driveable. The throttle is either one or off. I think he said for the next DE he does he is going to take the chip out because he didn't like the way the car is tuned. Almost like the custom chips are setup for drag racing and not really driveability.

But the temp was averaging around 85-90 and he never had any overheating problems.

That's good to hear. Maybe he has the redesigned cooling system in his? When did he get it?

Hey may have. The car looked pretty new. It was his third event with it. He had just upgraded some stuff on the car, did the software tune, and was running new rims and wheels.

He actually said the run flats that came with the car performed better than the Kumho MX's that he was running over the weekend. That was one of the main reason we started talking as he wanted to know my thoughts on the MX tire. Of course my car is considerably lighter and has almost 2/3rd's less power.

Beautiful car, and that thing was a rocket down the straight-aways.

Some 335i's (Coupe and Sedan) have only one factory oil cooler, and others have two. There seems to not be a production month or any indicator what you'll wind up with. Some just have one oil cooler.

I'm a member over at e90post.com too, where it's been well discussed.

I was unaware of that. I'm glad to hear they're cracking down. All of the cars I've seen personally have had only one cooler.

There's quite a few reports of the 2nd oil cooler being retrofitted, although there is not a TSB for it yet. Dealers hands are supposedly tied and you have to individually fight thru BMWNA channels. Pretty crummy situation for those affected.
