BUT - I'm a bit more turbo savvy now. So here goes. From what I can tell there are 2 different FI setups for the Ti, the Mosselman turbo and the DASC. The DASC runs a whopping 7.5 lbs. of boost, whereas the turbo runs even less. Compared to other cars this seems ridiculously low! So. . . why aren't people running different injectors to match the airflow and keep from running way too lean and a piggyback to control A/F ratios? Ugh - I was SO going to look at a WRX tomorrow until I checked trade in on the Ti!!! It looks like I'll be keeping it after all and putting the Talon back together as planned 2 months ago. | | | 07-07-2006, 05:03 AM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 2,525 | If you have the m44 you can get the NickG stage 3 DASC kit and bump the boost up to 10psi, complete with a tuned chip, pulley, etc... No need for a piggy back controller. If you have the m42 you can always run the dasc with a euro HFM upgrade and a piggy back controller. Doesn't seem to be that common in the Ti's, one member here that I know of, but you do see it on the e30 m42 cars. Also check out the scrivner engineering supercharger thread. I would imagine that the stage 2 and especially stage 3 are in excess of 10psi. Again with custom tuned ECU. | | | 07-07-2006, 04:08 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: Tyler, TX Posts: 1,022 | The reason most people don't push more boost is the 10:1 compression and cast internals (three cheers for the ultimate driving machine). As for the Talon, I hope it's atleast the motor is a 1st gen. Good luck with it. | | | 07-07-2006, 04:44 PM | #4 | doesn't care about you.
