Only draw back is if you have cheap plastic in your fuel lines, it will eat through it. http://www.realtechnews.com/posts/2598 THe guy's chart says 2-3 oz/ 10 gal Best, John Paul | | | 11-29-2007, 07:59 PM | #47 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: LA, Bellflower, CA Posts: 3,613 | hmm. sounds really risky. anyone ever tried it? just wondering. hey jesse, im gonna definitely do the sea foam thing at the Socal meet. hopefully u can help me out. | | | 01-11-2008, 11:28 PM | #48 | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Oceanside, CA Posts: 8 | I'm "foaming" my ti tomorrow as it turns out. 122,000 miles and going strong. I didnt get much smoke and I hopefully the knocking noise will go down. I am going to pump a half a quart of oil out of my car tonight and put some marvel mystery oil in. | | | 02-22-2008, 10:27 PM | #50 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | Quote: Originally Posted by cope Hi, Here is the URL about acetone. It's sold in plastic bottles. Maybe they use expensive plastic to make the bottles. __________________ 4 MORE YEARS BABY!!! | | | 03-11-2008, 02:20 AM | #51 | Member Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Kansas City Posts: 47 | Just got done sea foaming my ti and WOW it smoked like crazy!! Afterwards it is running like a champ. I assumed after turning 200k on it she needed a good ole sea foam. Only problem I can think of is that there isn't really a good place to drive around here where cops won't be. I'm gonna get a lotta odd looks, thats for sure. Everyone around the capital is so critical I have one question though...I know the foam states that the O2 sensors will be fine, but I'm a bit worried as I've recently, within the last 6 months, had mine replaced. Common sense tells me that since they're rather new they shouldn't be harmed, but at the same time I don't want to risk messin them up when they only have a few thousand miles on them. My idle's rather harsh and I'd really like that to stop..If this helps I'll be incredibly happy. __________________ | | | 03-13-2008, 12:54 AM | #56 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by Ken I don't know but I think we need the full size pic | +1, btw, any of those ladies single? | | | 03-13-2008, 02:46 AM | #57 | Member Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Kansas City Posts: 47 | Hey gents, It says "Wanna Ride With Me in My BMW"! Just an FYI don't worry about the O2 Sensors! Mine were fine and they are pretty old! My check engine light came on for about 10 minutes after I did it and once I blew the smoke out it went off by itself and never came back on. Fixed my rough idle! Totally recommend it! | | | 03-13-2008, 03:19 AM | #58 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2007 Location: Damascus, Maryland Posts: 434 | If I have semi-recently changed my oil, should I wait till I'm closer to the 3000 mile mark to foam just to prevent having to dump pretty clean oil? __________________ | | | 03-13-2008, 07:51 AM | #59 | NOBODY F's with the Jesus Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: Ventura California Posts: 7,824 | I'd wait until you were closer to changing your oil. I drove mine for about a hundred miles and then changed the oil. __________________ 4 MORE YEARS BABY!!! | | | 08-24-2008, 08:55 PM | #60 | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: Mena, Ar Posts: 8 | I seafoamed my 318 recently. Something that seems strange to me happened when I did it though. Everything I have read says that the engine will want to stall when it sucks up the seafoam. Well when I was sucking it in through the intake the engine seemed to do that opposite d sounded like it was being revved up. It has been a while since I did the treatment, I was just thinking back on it and it seemed odd. Any ideas? Or am i just missing something completely obvious? | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | Similar Threads | Thread | Thread Starter | Forum | Replies | Last Post | 15mm pad install problem | hotdog19d | Suspension | 11 | 04-29-2005 04:42 AM | |
