Default Emblem?

Does anyone know an easy way of taking the rear emblem off the 318ti? I tried using a screw driver to pry it off, but it is stuck too tight and the paint is scratching. I believe it is the original emblem, the BMW logo has worn off. Trying to replace it. I am reading about using a hair dryer and floss?

I've heard of using a credit card and getting it underneath the emblem then putting a screwdriver in and popping it loose. The credit card is there to protect the paint and help to open the gap a little. I believe there are two posts with grommets so just alternatingly (yeah I made that up) pry on each side where the posts are until it comes free.

Are you trying to remove the BMW roundel or the 318ti badge? The roundel is held on by two post that slide into plastic grommets while the 318ti logo is held on with adhesive. The floss technique will only work on the 318ti badge. As for the roundel, you could either carefully pry it up or try pushing on the post from underneath the hood or hatch.

Problem fixed! Taping a screw driver and prying it off worked without scratching the paint

So I guess you were trying to remove the roundel. JFYI, your first post was confusing. For starters, "the rear emblem off of the 318ti" can mean one of two things. And secondly, you wouldn't use a hair dryer and floss to remove a roundel, so "the BMW logo is worn off" didn't make sense.

well on the emblem, I'm not sure what it is called but the bmw symbol wore off (I call it a logo but I don't know the technical name). Sorry for any confusion.
