I would imagine a BMW dealership would not exactly do it for free, or am I wrong? | | | 06-22-2010, 02:37 AM | #1580 | That's not Millpoint Blue Join Date: Apr 2005 Location: BNA Posts: 3,161 | Quote: Originally Posted by ovrsteer any other suggestions for VIN decoding? | I know there's a web site that will provide that info, but it's not free, and I don't know the URL for the site. Funny thing they did not know or have the info if it was a BASE / ACTIVE / or sport The car has the alloy wheels / sun roof / leather wheel /on board computer / and body colored panels (m-teck front but regular painted non-m-diffuser rear) does this mean it's NOT a sport model? It has the active specific alloys... Should also have cruise control and the trip computer. __________________ 1996 318ti - 2000 Z3 2.3 - 2012 MINI Cooper Hatchback | | | 06-24-2010, 02:05 AM | #1585 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | Quote: Originally Posted by amancuso That car is definately an active model. Is Mallard really gone? He will be greatly missed as he was such a great resource to this community. I was going to ask him to decode EF43974 Thanks for all the times you helped me in the past. I actually extracted the factory build sheet from under the backseat of my car over the weekend, and it only listed 3 of the 10 options listed on the PDF that I got from the web service (but I do have everything listed, for some reason the factory options sheet wasn't complete). Finally, I was able to confirm I have M Sport suspension but no LSD. FWIW, jacking up one side of my car a few weeks ago, I was able to spin the elevated tire freely, so this may be some indirect evidence showing that simple test works just fine. | | | 08-02-2010, 09:43 AM | #1589 | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Columbus, GA Posts: 6 | Can you interpret mine?
