I saw that the subframe bump stops were torn and needed replaced ( there were 2 ). the diagram on realoem.com shows only one but there were 2 on mine. I ordered 2 not thinking and of course the one doesn't fit both sides. one side needs to be a mirror image of the other, reverse fit. I cannot find the part number for the other side bump stop. if you look up under RealOEM.com under 318ti engine then front suspension it would be part number 19 bump stop. does anyone have any info on said parts or where I could get the one I need? any help would greatly be appreciated. thanks | | | 09-28-2017, 10:07 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2009 Location: Georgia Posts: 595 | There was only one on both my 1996 and 1998. __________________ 1996 Ti 280k miles and still going.... 1993 964 - holding on to this one 2001 Burban, 240k miles 2018 Suburban Z71 | | | 09-29-2017, 12:43 AM | #3 | Member Join Date: May 2012 Location: springfield, MO Posts: 59 | the remnants of the second one were still on the subframe of mine | | | 09-30-2017, 03:40 AM | #4 | Member Join Date: Nov 2015 Location: missouri Posts: 99 | If you look at the page on real oem it tells you how many of these were installed on each car. For this part it is only 1. And that's because of the way the engine torques when driven hard. Engines not only twist side to side but under heavy load can rotate slightly in the engine bay. And that side is the only one that could hit. | | | 09-30-2017, 08:10 AM | #5 | Member Join Date: May 2012 Location: springfield, MO Posts: 59 | well, ok I think that sounds reasonable. thank you for the info I will continue on with just the one and try and finish up the installation. as usual, you guys always come up with the right answers. I appreciate it. | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
