Default I found this 318ti with no Asc

i'm looking for a 318ti andi found this in rome. It has gpl fuel , but the most interesting thing is that with my surprise , in this car there is no asc button on the left.
And there is not asc light on the dashboard.

And there is not asc light on the dashboard when i turn on the key, there is only abs spy
In your opinion this is a versione equipped with lds differential?

The vin number is AR29742 but i found only this information , and there is no mension of ASC or lsd

BMW stopped offering LSD on the non-diesel E36s a year before the car was built. (Folks in the U.S. had to special order it starting another half year earlier.)

On the 9/97 German price list, ASC was a 990 DM option.

so it has no asc and no lsd? i thought ASC was stock equipped in 1997

this is not german but official italian bmw car

I don't know what options BMW Italy bundled into their cars. I mentioned the German price list to suggest that they would have had to pay Munich to include it on every car. It would not have cost them anywhere near 100 000 Lira, but it would still have raised the selling price. At that time, you could save a fair amount of money buying an Italian BMW and reimporting to Germany. That makes me suspect they didn't order ASC on every car.

how i could be sure I do not have ASC??? there is a control unit or a cpu un the engine bay?

The build information you posted earlier, the missing ASC switch, and the no ASC light when you turn on the ignition convince me the car does not have ASC.

Any chance you can test drive the car?
