I bought my bosal (cat all the way back) for 160$ on here one time (not typical but as an example - you may be able to get away with one for less than 250$ - a custom one, unless it's poorly constructed may cost up to 1000$.) however, i've done one, not on my bmw. what you will need to do (since i don't know emission law in florida) is research what materials can be used. You then select either the piping or tubing (weird but done before) you would like, constructed from the material. You will then need to construct an adapter to your cat you will then need to decide how you would like this attached. I suggest welding metal hangars which will "plug&play" into your vehicle's frame or need be welded. keep in mind that you may or may not get the result you were after unless you take consideration of accepted air circulation models. If it's a straight back tube, dependant upon the material, it may be VERY loud. __________________ now when i hit that switch, I'M BOUNCIN. | | | 04-18-2007, 10:39 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2006 Location: Central NJ Posts: 2,440 | Or... much easier route: take it to an exhaust shop | | | 04-19-2007, 03:37 PM | #4 | Senior Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: Portland Or Posts: 2,666 | I had a full system custom welded on my Jeep with all top line parts and it cost < $800. And its a way harder setup to build.... Not stainless though... I went to a muffler shop and had the guy took out the resonator and replaced it with a straight pipe and kept the the rear can. It sounded way loude than I expected it; too much droning in the 2000-4000 rpm range, and no good for cruising on the highway. It was cheap, and it gained 10hp when I dynoed it; cost me only $75. I still think, for the money, The Stromung is the best buy on the market. A Straight through construction, full stainless with 2" piping and three inch resonated tip. __________________ It's always a great day to be underwater and play with the fish.....preserve our oceans and reefs" Fariz 1997 318ti, Hellrot (Bright Red), Dinan Stage 2 Chip 16x7 OEM sport Wheels/X-Brace/Custom Strut Brace/Cold Air Intake/M-Tec Steering Wheel/Koni Adjustable FrontShocks/ Bilstein Sport Rear Shocks /H&R Sport Springs/Custom fabricated strut tower brace/Rear Strut brace, Stromung Exhaust Future Mods: E46 17" wheels or Kosei K-1 17x8.5s | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
