If your box had been removed, that might be why it is lying free under the hood. Could be the air intake temperature gauge. Im after a intake extension pipe but I cant find one. I'd put it in the pipe after the filter with a grommet.. All you need to do is buy a grommet and drill a hole in the pipe just past the filter. It should match the area where the small green O-ring sits.
