Im only about 6 hours from you, But the last thing i need is another one of these cars that is on the verge of dying. thanks in advance. | | | 01-06-2009, 11:33 PM | #5 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: Malvern, PA Posts: 373 | the most important problem (which for some reason my stepdad didn't list) is that first gear is getting touchy. that is to say if you try to accelerate too quickly in first gear that it will slip and lurch. like. when people first start driving stick and the car lunges forward then almost stops then lunges forward.. it does that. but if you drive it nicely it is completely fine. past problems were all either cooling or electrical problems. the electrical stuff was all my fault, just making stupid mistakes putting stuff back together. the cooling system is all new, except for the heater core and hoses (which are all in good condition). there is a fuel smell in the engine bay, the injectors need new o-rings. that's not a big deal, i just never got around to ordering them. that catalytic efficiency thing, just search the forums, there are threads on it. it is an aftermarket (DEC) cat. it still passes PA emissions, you just have to clear the code, then drive long enough to let the tests finish and its ok. it just comes back EVENTUALLY. not immediately. other than those problems though, the car has a lot of new parts and it handles great. __________________ 1997 TI Sport, Silver | | | 01-07-2009, 12:42 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2004 Location: state college, pa Posts: 3,431 | FYI, not all counties in PA require emissions inspections. If you have another property in a lesser-populated area, you may want to register it there. I was having issues with mail delivery so I had everything sent to the office, and ended up saving $50/year. __________________ I scream, you scream, we all scream for ZOMBIES. | | | 01-07-2009, 08:19 PM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: Malvern, PA Posts: 373 | bump __________________ 1997 TI Sport, Silver | | | 01-11-2009, 04:58 PM | #8 | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2009 Location: KY Posts: 3 | Interested in your car.
