 Idle Question
Maybe dumb question, but what should my car idle at? It's a 95 ti. It's under 1k currently, but it'll sputter down then the rpm's surge back up intermittently.
my car did show a check engine light a few months ago but that went off after a day, it did give code 1286, but i figured that was unrelated. It does have a crack in the base of a knock sensor.
it did something similar before where it would sputter and surge violently, but turned out my fuel injectors and fuel rail was so clogged it was just being starved of fuel. All that has been taken care of though. I know the throttle cable was messed with and the MAF was as well (well, that dial thing with the teeth, it was messed with when the car had the bad fuel injectors trying to get it to idle better I guess). Any ideas? I've spent a lot of time fixing what the previous owner did to this poor car lol. |
