The 1 series is definitly a unique car all its own. It's a new design! I can't afford a used one they are so new so I wouldn't really consider it unpopular...just uncommon. The Ti is very loveable and unique. If they were as popular as the Civic, I don't think they would be as fun to own. __________________ | | | 04-05-2009, 02:26 AM | #6 | Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 9,356 | I've only seen 4 ones. And two of them were friends of mine doing Performance Center Delivery. I'd say sales are very low compared to the three or it may just be that there are more threes on the road near me. __________________ ...steven BMW CCA #146825 1996 BMW 328ti • 2003 MINI Cooper S • 2016 M235i www.bmwcca.org | | | 04-05-2009, 02:55 AM | #7 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: asdfasdf Posts: 10,002 | the 1 series is somewhat unpopular because it's priced so close to the 3 series, when given the choice, an average person is more likely to go for the 3 series | | | 04-05-2009, 02:56 AM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2008 Location: Austin Posts: 3,059 | Well a lot of people consider the ti rice. And not many like the 1, because it reminds them of the x6. __________________ Come get a ti-shirt Quote: From the e30 M3, evolved the e36. Today, I saw a 135 vert. and 2 318Ti's, both were blue too, one of them was Avus, and the other was Montreal(i think), both of them might have been Avus tho. | | | 04-05-2009, 07:00 AM | #10 | Z3 Join Date: Jun 2003 Location: Usa Posts: 660 | The 1 and the Ti are unloved.. in America ________ BMW R90S Last edited by Bozola; 01-31-2011 at 03:27 PM. | | | 04-05-2009, 07:44 AM | #11 | Senior Member Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Long Beach area Posts: 1,189 | Quote: Originally Posted by Bozola The 1 and the Ti are unloved.. in America | Very true. The 1 and ti are "too small" in this part of the world. In my area, I see cars like Chrysler 300s and Dodge Chargers left and right, and as mentioned above, the price for a 1 is so close to the 3 series that people would just go ahead and get an E90. I haven't seen anybody call my ti rice, it's just the way that people treat em and mod em. Also, it's just unloved because they don't like how the rear looks, and it was only offered with the M42/M44 motors. At the time that the ti was offered here in the US, I believe that SUVs and trucks were the popular things to get. I've slowly been seeing more and more 1's recently, but between the 1 and the 3, there's still way more 3's out there. __________________ 97 Jet Black 318ti Sport. Not so stock anymore!.... I would have to see it in person I guess. But then again, when I first bought my ti I wasn't thrilled about the body design and I had my mind set on a Honda Del Sol. But the Del Sol had been in three accidents in three years so I bought the ti instead and on the drive home I forgot what a Del Sol looked like... | | | 04-05-2009, 04:48 PM | #15 | Senior Member Join Date: May 2006 Location: Memphis, Tn Posts: 1,299 | Quote: Originally Posted by BMW_318TI Over here a lot of people make jokes about the 318TI, but I don't care! Well at least a black Ti that looks that good has to be mine. I have seen other local Ti's but nothing like mine. lol. I am full of myself. __________________ custom dual exhaust,M3 front and rear bumper, 10.4 inch roof mount drop screen, Viper alarm system, DSII's rims, M3 Vader Seats, M3 Mirrors, Carbon Fiber CAI, Smoked Corners, Side Markers, Leatherz armrests, black grilles 225k miles and still the Ti goes on | | | | | Currently Active Users Viewing This Thread: 1 (0 members and 1 guests) | | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | |
