Default $500 99 318Ti

Saw this listing. Good idea for a project?

Title costs $25 so that isn't an issue, lol.

Kind of wanted to restore it, but I'm not sure if that would be worth the money. Which is why I was asking. My sedan says DD more than fun/track. Wanted a 2 door M3, but that is out of my budget.

I would rather not insult the guy. And offering half of the asking price doesn't seem like a good start.

if you're confident and competent enough to work on it yourself you could buy it for 500 and buy an S52 and good replacement parts for another 4500 for a hell of a $5k car

I've done all the maintenance/work on my 328i, albeit it wasn't anything difficult. I thought about swapping in a S52, but I've never done an engine swap, so that would have to come later on. Judging by the pictures the whole front end looks like it needs replaced, that and the rear bumper.

Thinking about it, I would have to find a trailer to haul the car back home, which is two hours away. I don't know anyone with a trailer that big. :/

Either way, there has to be well more than $500 worth of parts on that car. I've made about $500 so far parting my '95 and I still have the entire drive train.

I may have to wait until next year when I move to NorCal. Don't see me getting it cross country worthy by then. If I had a trailer I would probably get it Saturday as I'm going up there to meet a member on bf.c to pick up more of my interior swap. Does anyone know the market on Ti's in NorCal?

Buy this car. U-Haul rents flat-bed trailers. Haul it home...get it running. Well worth the $500.00. This is a fraction of the price you would pay for the same car in NorCal. It doesn't need a back bumper...it's there. the front bumper can be had for a few hundred bucks. I'd be willing to bet you could have this car cross-country ready in 2-3 months. You might have to spend another $1500.00 or so doing that...but, it'd be totally worth it in the end.

+1 (although, it doesn't have much detail in the ad about what else it might need to get it road worthy)

You can get M-sport knock-off bumpers from DDM for $99!

DDM bumper
