Default Love these TI's

Hey guys,

I just joined last week to this forum after finally picking up my first TI . As far as I can tell its a 1998 base model but I'll be sending my vin to the member to decode. I've always liked these cars and have wanted one forever but they don't came around often in New England especially with the 5sp already in it. As my introduction post said, I've owned quite a few beamers over the years and have a few right now. I got to say I thought I'd love the TI when I got it but that's an understatement. This weekend a buddy and I completely removed the m44 engine and the transmission to go with it, as I'm either going to rebuild and make into a dd or put a spare m3 engine with all components I have back instead. Removing the engine and tranny only took half the day Saturday. Granted the previous owner had just about done all the hardware with anti-seize so I didn't run into issues there nor am I new to removing BMW engines/trannys.

With that being said I can't believe how stupidly easy these things are to work on. On a scale of 1 to 5, one being super easy and 5 most difficult this is definitely a 1. Tomorrow I'm actually going to look at another green 1996 ti here locally that I believe is a clubsport. Lets hope the guy will take my 1999 323i (e36) convertible in trade . I'm a beyond happy owner. If the guy goes for it, the first one picked up is getting modded for the track with the m3 engine .

If the car you are going to look at is a 1996...it's not a clubsport. Also, if it's green...it's not a clubsport.
Clubsports were built in (October if I recall) 1995. And, they only came in red or black.
maybe it's a Sport model.

Welcome to the Org

Thanks teetime4one. It wasn't actually a clubsport you were definitely right. It was advertised as one. The picture the guy originally had was green but was a stock photo. It was black and a 1996 and he was saying it was a clubsport but I checked it out when I got there and it actually wasn't. Still a good deal so I'm considering it.
