Are e30 controls arms a direct replacement? I dont need s50 M3 bushes aswell do I? 2. 18" wheels rubbing on inside of wheel wells. Would the s50 m3 bushes remedy this as the wheels sit a few cm's forward? 3. Leaking steering rack. Would a local garage be able to fit a Z3 1.9 rack if i told them it does mount the same but it would require extra piping and a bracket etc? Or would they give up on the job, whinge it doesnt fit? So, does a z3 rack mate with e30 arms. Are the s50 m3 bushes a necessity? Thanks in advance, I need to get this car taxed and back on the road/track. __________________ E36 3.0 M3 Cosmos Schwarz E36 1.8 318ti Cosmos Schwarz | | | 02-15-2010, 08:11 PM | #2 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: New Orleans Posts: 970 | i did the z3 rack on mine, straight bolt-on, the only difference is the cooler pipe that mounts to the rack, and you should replace the tie rod assemblies/boots while your doing it edit: on the pipe, the z3 one doesnt fit e36s, but i used one from an e46. __________________ ^being rebuilt^ until then: daily car: 96' Blue DASC'd ti with koni coilovers slowly progressing... weekend car: 85 1/2' 944 Porsche no a/c, p/s, gutted cat, loud as hell exhaust, loud as hell sound system Last edited by minicoop900; 02-15-2010 at 08:14 PM. | | | 02-15-2010, 08:14 PM | #3 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: lancashire, england Posts: 300 | Quote: Originally Posted by minicoop900 i did the z3 rack on mine, straight bolt-on, the only difference is the cooler pipe that mounts to the rack, and you should replace the tie rod assemblies/boots while your doing it | ahh cheers mate, I think i'll go for it then. You might want to be sure. __________________ ... ʎɐqǝ uo pɹɐoqʎǝʞ ɐ ʎnq ı ǝɯıʇ ʇsɐן ǝɥʇ sı sıɥʇ | | | 02-15-2010, 09:51 PM | #8 | Senior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: lancashire, england Posts: 300 | Quote: Originally Posted by b.u.ti-ful The common leaking oil filter housing seal can make it look like you have a leaking rack. I've had to top it up a couple of times before. __________________ E36 3.0 M3 Cosmos Schwarz E36 1.8 318ti Cosmos Schwarz | | | 02-15-2010, 09:56 PM | #9 | Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2006 Location: Wisconsin Posts: 1,895 | Quote: Originally Posted by cosmos schwarz Nah, that seal gets changed every service. | Wow!
