Default belt tensioner replacement question

Hey all, I guess I'm pretty new to this stuff, but this forum has been great. Maybe I'm dumb, but it seems like everyone has no issue changing out a belt tensioner on an M44. Mine is a 1997 and I have a spare 1998 M44 as well. Can anyone tell me how to remove the mechanical belt tensioner for the power steering, alternator belt? Do I have to remove the power steering pulley to get clearance? I ended up just changing the pulley on my tensioner the other day after realizing it was a reverse thead, but I cannot figure out how to take the tensioner itself out.

thanks, and yes I did search the forum for this but cannot find anything. Again, it seems to be simple for most folks.

Have you though of getting a repair manual for the car? Yes I know it's cheaper to use the Search function (it's the first thing I do), but a proper manual can be a lot of help if your reading comprehension skills are in place. I suggest the Bentley E36 3 Series manual.

I had to remove the PS pulley to get mine out. Maybe someone else has another trick.

Break the bolts on the ps pulley loose before you take the belt off

I had to leave the belt on, reach up and grab the pulley to keep it from turning.
