New coilovers soon

I bent between what to get. BC Racing, ksport, or something else in the same price range. Also can't decide if I want a true rear coilover or not. I know the rear would need reinforcing. My uses for the car are daily driven with some autocross thrown in and maybe the occasional drift event. I'm thinking about spring rates 500lb front and 350-375lb rear something like that.

There are also GAZ coilovers for a little more than BC's and KSport's. They are the supplier for the BMW Compact Cup in the UK. Their GHA line of coilovers are their affordable line and should be on par or better than BC's.

Talking to sellers, they recommend 550 lb front and 650 lb rear for autox and DD duties. The rears would be 275 lb if converted to a true coil over.

The gaz coilovers look really nice and they even sell a new rear top mount to take the extra spring load for true rear coilovers. I don't think they come with them though or the camber plates.

You can buy camber plates with the GAZ coilovers.

I can't tell you exactly why people choose a stiffer rear than the front. It has something to do with wheel rates, and I do not know enough enough of suspension to know what all the numbers mean when you calculate it out.

That question is better suited for the seller of the coilovers.

When I got my quote, it was $1090 for the GHA kit without camber plates and $1360 with camber plates. Looking on GAZ's product catalog, they do make their own camber plates, so you would get 100% compatible parts.

i dont know for the GHA

but for the GGA the rear top mount are include in the kit because the are specific to them (hole excentred)

generally speaking, having a stiffer rear will feel better around the corners. it won't feel like the rear sagging behind and trying to catch up. with that said, some people still do prefer stiffer fronts. i tried a few different spring for the rear rates between 700 and 1020, and i really enjoyed having a stiffer rear. more importantly though is having struts/shocks suitable for the spring rate. i'm running 500/700 now and it feels great.
