Disclaimer:
---------------------------------------------

This a pay your own way event. This means even me the organizer pays my own way to attend. Organizing drives is my hobby and I enjoy putting the events on. I also pay for the website and store system out of my own pocket to make sharing information and registering easier on everyone.
---------------------------------------------

California Century of BMW Road Trip - May 27th – 29th 2016

The California Century of BMW Road Trip is an event open to any and all BMW enthusiasts. The road tour is a four daylong event that will be a trip to tell your BMW buddies about. Saturday the 28th we will head to Bimmerfest to see all the latest and greatest in BMW. On the 29th the group departs back home with a 60 mile drive through canyons back to the Grape Vine. From here the group can split off to head home or make their own adventure.

Deadline to sign up is May 13th!

Itinerary of activities for the weekend

Day 1: Drivers' Day

Drive from Northern California to Pasadena along fun and twisty back roads. We are avoiding as much freeway as possible in order to have a fun drive VS a speed and distance drive. Lunch will be in San Luis Obispo at the Firestone Grill.

Meet Time: 7:30am - Meet and greet and drivers' meeting
Address: Safeway Fuel - 591 Tres Pinos Road, Hollister, 95023
Depart Time: 8:00 am – ON THE DOT! If you are late, you are on your own.

Lunch Stop & Fuel Stop
Address: Firestone Grill - 1001 Higuera St, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401 (Pre pay for lunch)
Lunch Time: 11:00pm – 12:00pm

End of the day

Address: Super 8 Motel - 2863 East Colorado Boulevard, Pasadena, CA 91107

Meet time: 6:30pm

Address: Stonefire Grill - 473 N Rosemead Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107

Day 2: Events Day

Bimmerfest car show is held at the Fontana Race Way. The group will caravan from the hotel to the race way in order to get spaces in the group parking area as well as to have fun watching all the cars come in. Trust me when I say you want to be there when we are as we have fun judging cars that arrive.

Address: Fontana Race Way - 9300 Cherry Ave, Fontana, CA 92335
Time: Depart at 8:15am from Super 8 Motel

Depending on time we will head to Griffin Observatory to end the day with dinner at a Mongolian BBQ by the hotel.
Address: Vista Del Valle Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90027

After dinner, we will be heading out for an evening drive. It'll be an adventure you'll have to experience to understand.

Day 3: Canyon drive to Grape Vine

Canyon drive over to the Grape Vine and to head home or start a new adventure.

Address: Super 8 Motel - 2863 East Colorado Boulevard, Pasadena, CA 91107
Depart: 9:00am

Item to purchase outside the event - Please purchase

VFH hand held two way radio. This is an investment that you and your buddies can use to go on future drives as well. We use these radio as we get far better range than the Motorola radios. Add the long antenna and we get a 10 mile range.

Southern California Participants

For those in Southern California who wish to join for the first day of the event, the easiest meeting point is the lunch stop in Pasadena. An alternative plan is to drive to Holister the afternoon before and stay overnight to join us for the full drive down. The driving leg after lunch is over roads many of you I am sure have been on through the mountains.

Some questions have been posted on other threads so this is a Q&A to all them.

2) The event is open to any and all. The drive down is on fun back roads done as a group to make it more fun. So invite your friends if you like

3) Families are welcome to attend. If they get car sick, there is a group of families going direct on Friday to meet us in Pasadena.

4) The deadline to sign up is May 16th as hotels need to be assigned and any extras released. Rates we have are guaranteed so if you book last minute rates will be higher if not with the group as a FYI.

Same route as last year with 1 new section.

Only difference is we are adding a day to drive to mammoth and DV.

Hope to get a few people on the second part. I am leading all 4 days/.

Anyone considering to do the track day at Bimmerfest this year? Looks like two days, I'd do Saturday.

Hey Adam! So, i was thinking of staying both days so I miss the drive back through Grapevine. Potentially morning Auto-x Sat and check out Fest in the afternoon with a track day on Sunday, drive back Monday.

Let me see how this change fits in. Thanks!

Anyone thinking about driving down from NorCal to Fest, Adam sets up an Awesome route with great folks taking the drive. I was torn last year which was funnier, the track day or the drive down. Way beats a boring drive down 5 or 101.

Do this!

I'm in, thanks Adam.

I will not be doing the Auto-X at Fest as is is only for non-BMW CCA members. It is a recruiting effort, so figuring if I do one or two track days. If you are not a member, this is a great deal for the Auto-X day AND a year membership for the same price.

I'm thinking to do the track day on Sunday if most folks will be there Saturday for meet and greets. It would be good to meet you all.

No, I'm on a restrictive diet just now which so far has me 44 lbs lighter. I will still be on it at that time.

I may bring my brother and am figuring if he will be comfortable driving the route with us in his new to him Bimmer. So, we may have one more driver or not.
